Camp at Grampanchayat Sawarmendha

It appears that on February 22, 2023, a medical camp was conducted by the Bhaglaxami NGO at the Grampanchayat Sawarmendha in Nagpur, India. The camp was focused on eye checkups, and a total of 71 patients were attended to.

Out of the 71 patients, 18 underwent SPECT (possibly referring to a type of eye test called a Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography), while 12 were diagnosed with cataract, a condition where the eye’s lens becomes cloudy and affects vision. Four patients were found to have pterygium, a growth of tissue on the white part of the eye that can cause irritation and affect vision. Two patients had squint, which is a condition where the eyes do not align properly. Six patients underwent fundus examination, which is a test that examines the back of the eye to detect any abnormalities or diseases. Finally, three patients were diagnosed with chalazion, a type of eyelid bump caused by inflammation of the oil glands.

In addition to these specific diagnoses, 26 patients were classified as “other” and their conditions were not specified. Overall, it appears that the camp was focused on detecting and treating a variety of eye-related conditions, and that a significant number of patients were diagnosed with cataract, pterygium, and chalazion.
